31 Days of Perimenopause Symptoms Day 27

Welcome to The Periprofessional from Threads!

Vaginal irritation is a part of a group of perimenopause and menopause symptoms called The Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM).

The internet makes it seem like it only happens in menopause, but signs of GSM can begin in perimenopause. Irritation can occur in and out of the bedroom, so it’s not just related to sex. It can feel like burning, itching, and dryness, for example. It can also affect all the bits and pieces - the urethra, clitoris, vulva (the outside), inside the vaginal canal, the perineum, and the anal area.
