Hey, anytime I can talk about crotches, I'm in! Thanks, Susan and I appreciate your restack. You've got a great process there where you include your comment in a Note. Awesome idea!

I saw these new guidelines hit the other day and said 'it's about damn time'!

So important! Ironically, it was my urologist who gave me a prescription for it and not my GYN who never mentioned anything to me about it.

Yes, that's actually not surprising. I told my mother to ask for it from her GYN, who did prescribe it for her at 70, but I don't think mine would at my age, when I know it would help. We put cream on every other orifice of our body for whatever reasons except there? ...it's just lazy medicine.

You're a great daughter advocating for your mother! I hope it made a huge difference. It usually does, especially if given before the major damage happens. I hope it hadn't gotten too bad for her.

Thank you. :) She actually started it years ago, then she's not sure if it was because of the 2002 study or not, but she stopped it. Since then, she has had multiple UTIs with nothing really helping and bad side effects from antibiotics. Not one doctor told her to go on vaginal estrogen after all the UTIs. After all my perimenopause research I had to do for myself I came across this research and other doctor's podcasts (Kelly Casperson & Louise Newson) and told her this was what she needed. So far it has been better for her, but it will take time to rebuild the protection. I'm not going to wait and will make sure my sisters don't either. Thanks for sharing the research too! I hope your event went well last night, I wanted to join but wasn't available.

They are trying to remove the black box warning from the packaging, which scares a lot of women away. UTIs in seniors can be life-threatening, so I'm so glad that she's back on it, as it will help with those and make her so much more comfortable overall. I resisted starting it when my urologist pressed me (only because of that "old lady crotch cream" image I had in my mind, but it's made a world of difference in something I didn't even know was so much of an issue. Thanks for your interest in the event - I'll make sure you get the replay next week. It was a great night. Real information, no fluff. Thank you for continuing as a supportive reader! I always appreciate your thoughtful and helpful comments.
