Loving your simple, helpful clarification Shelby 😊 I also will not be reaching menopause in 2025 (I'm turning 52).... I'm starting to get impatient, I'm ready to be on that steady solid ground on the other side 😀

Thank you, Dr. Connop! We're on the clock together. I also am looking forward to it. Give it about 2 years post-menopause for everything to settle down hormonally. When they say it's a journey, they mean it.

Still a way to go then 🙃

Well written as always, Shelby. It’s true that when undergoing surgery not all women are aware that this will throw them into sudden menopause! I have another friend who almost died of an unknown blood clot last January, which was obviously a very traumatic experience and she hasn’t had a period since. She is 49 years old. In all of the medical information that she received about this blood clot and her recovery, no medical professional ever mentioned that this could be something where she has been thrown into menopause as well. She passed the 365 day mark last week (so grateful she is okay!) and it’s official! The day of her collapse was Day 1 of the 365.

Thank goodness she is okay! Medical trauma is life altering. We rely on our medical professionals because we have no choice and we put our faith and trust in them to do their best. When that falls short of expectations it is maddening. I'm glad your friend had you and that you each had each other. 🩷

After 5 years of practicing and learning cycle awareness as I go, I'm so glad to see that menstrual cycle awareness/cycle syncing is officially "in"!

There is so much to be gained from the understanding of our phases and the abilities and challenges they bring.

It really has revolutionized how I care for myself and how my family sees all the phases of me and how we do life as a family.

Women truly are the picture of a guide. And it's right in our biology.

There's a reason why if mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. Well, when mama knows her cycle and has her needs met, her stress reduces and she feels fulfilled and more content.

I'm so glad you said that, Amanda! I was going to call you out personally in the article but then second guessed myself because I thought it may be too surprising. If you don't mind, I'll add it as originally intended with a link to your Substack. Thanks for swinging by!
