We’re here on this eve of Independence Day in the United States, where this upcoming year is particularly significant as it marks the 250th anniversary of our nation's founding. We’re just toddlers compared to the longevity of most other countries, and lately we’ve seen some pretty big tantrums.
But this article isn’t about that.
This article focuses on all of us collectively and what we’ve been doing to shatter communication barriers and create meaningful change within our perimenopause communities and among our family and friend groups.
Through shared experiences, appreciation for one’s lived experience, and mutual support for one another, we are fostering connections that enable women and individuals to navigate this transformative phase of life more communally than our ancestors.
Menopause Isn’t Having a Moment, It’s Having a Movement.
I’ve noticed a significant increase in interest in menopause recently, particularly over the past year. I’m proud to lend my voice to this movement. Women no longer have to stay silent about their experiences and now have various places to find support, develop common bonds with friends, and get guidance. We no longer need to struggle alone.
The outdated stereotypes and stigmas surrounding menopause are gradually fading away, and we are now demonstrating to society that we are a powerful and influential force to be reckoned with.
We’re speaking up, we’re taking charge, we’re educating ourselves and each other, we’re walking into our appointments armed with facts and information, and we’re advocating for ourselves at work. We’re no longer accepting the status quo.
So what makes menopause sparkle?
Women who support women are the best women.
Every single one of you is making a difference by taking an interest in learning about perimenopause and menopause, having open conversations with friends and online, reading books and resources about menopause, staying up-to-date on women’s health news, and speaking up at work.
We’re all making a difference in our own way to help ourselves and other women feel whole while navigating body-and identity-altering changes.
Having you here with me week after week makes my time in perimenopause better, too. It’s no fun going through this alone.
Perimenopause may be temporary for us, but the impact we’ve made will be long-lasting.

I've found the most supportive group of women through the journey in perimenopause and in cycle awareness. The most amazing thing happens when we start to understand how our bodies are designed, how to track the shifting energies, and then realize our women in our life are sometimes having a Day 28. When we can share this with our women friends and family, there is an automatic shift in relatability. Through cycle awareness, I can see how women begin to let go of the need to compete with each other, and start standing up for and beside each other. Cause sometimes we need a moment to cry and breathe on the other line on our Day 1 or Day 45, or Day 1 after Day 60.
Thank you for all that you are doing for countless women through your work. We appreciate you so much!
